What every on-site beauty team needs to know about your venue

September 24, 2018 by Caralee Pridemore in On Site Hair and Makeup

On-site services are our most popular bookings, our team provides on-site services to approximately 15-25 brides in a season. As much as we LOVE doing our on-site services, there are a few things we need our brides to know about their venues.

There are a few critical things about your venue that will impact your beauty team, including:

  • Working space and conditions

  • Lighting. Note: I personally love natural light, but with so many seasons in Ohio, you are never guaranteed the perfect natural light. If you are a beauty guru or want to know what lights we love (see link below)

  • Mirrors

  • Tables and chairs availability

  • Parking specifics

Our stylists want you to know that every venue is different. Whether it’s a hotel room, hotel suite, venue bridal suite - every location is different. If you have a large party, but the venue doesn’t allow you to start until 9 a.m. and you need finished by 12 p.m., chances are we will need to start earlier than 9 a.m. - unless however, you would like to pay the additional assistance fee and travel fee to keep you on your timeline.

All of our stylists require a 4 person minimum for onsite services. We bring all of our equipment and tools for the day of. We have hand sized mirrors available. We can accommodate parking specifics, but require an additional fee for downtown hotels and valet parking. We do bring additional extension cords and chairs to use during the styling sessions.

We cannot accommodate people not paying for our services to use our products, bobby pins, etc. If we are given notice we can bring additional products for resale purposes. Unfortunately, we cannot provide full length mirrors (check with your venue!)

Let’s talk timelines

Please know, that we want the absolute best for you and your wedding party. We want you to be done by the time you need to be done. With that being said, we know you have a lot of questions and want to help the best possible outcomes. It is super important to know that with larger or bridal parties with a short timeline, that we require additional time, as we average about 45 minutes per person. It is mathematically impossible to do 9 heads of hair or 9 faces of makeup with 1 stylist working from a timeline of 9 a.m. to 12/1 p.m. please make sure you have a thorough consult 5-6 months prior to the wedding to ensure you get the additional help required for your day if needed.

Why is it so important for us to know about your on-site set up space?

  • When we know what to expect, we can have a quicker set up time

  • We do our best work when we’re prepared with the right equipment

  • Being prepared for the working space ensures we’ll stay on schedule/timeline

  • We want to do everything to keep your day as stress-free as possible
